Default Need help please! Car problem

I was coming from home when fine so i go home and parked my car went in my house a couple of minutes later i decided to go to the store so i got in my car and tried to turn it on but it wont start. i put some gas in it but it still wont start. the guy who sold it to me told me how it had a security thing on it where if you lock the passanger door with a key the car wont start.

never mind my dad just came over and he was able to start the car he said he moved a a ground wire that was connected to the battery.

Can any one tell how this factory security works?

a circuit is disconnected until you re-set

the factory security needs to be reset / re-engaged to allow the car to be started once you set the alarm off
this means if you set the security when you lock the car and then you trigger the alarm you need to be able to use your key to reset the system before you can start the car again , even though you think the alarm has been turned off because the horn stops blowing and the lights stop flashing . it really is still locked you need to set the alarm then turn it off

And you can only turn it of from the doors or by pulling the wires out of the kick panel and giving them a ground pulse.
