a circuit is disconnected until you re-set
the factory security needs to be reset / re-engaged to allow the car to be started once you set the alarm off this means if you set the security when you lock the car and then you trigger the alarm you need to be able to use your key to reset the system before you can start the car again , even though you think the alarm has been turned off because the horn stops blowing and the lights stop flashing . it really is still locked you need to set the alarm then turn it off
