Default whats a good offer on a 90 turbo?

i found a 1990 turbo with a targa and 5 spd. its owned by some rich dude but its not in a great condition which leads me to think he doesnt have a sentimental value for it. but bein wealthy and still having a car this old he might. im thinkin of askin to buy it from him, what ya guys say i should offer? the paint is kinda chipped, has worn leather intior, has like 180k on it(i think). the guy is in africa or something so i cant talk to him about it, so i gotta wait for him to come back... im thinkin 3k sounds resounable but bein in high school its kinda pricey. tell me what ya think.

Default

Look into the engine man, is there a bunch of stuff broken under the hood? 180k, new timing belt recently? Oil in the raditor coolant or white goo under the cap =BHG and a bad buy. Drive it to feel the tranny, grinding noises? How does it handle? Sink in the turns due to blown shocks? Interior trashed? Fluid leaks? A/C work? All the buttons on the climate control work? Windows, headlights, antennae up and down? Gas shocks on hood and trunk wasted? Turbo charger spool and produce at least 4lbs? All the power seat functions work? Damage to the interior? Spare tire and tools there? You need to really sort through a car before you buy. Listen for noises when you test drive. Does it start without having to crank it a bunch?

Default keep lookin'

This car may seem like a good deal for 3k. But keep your eyes open. I bought a 91 turbo with 60k for only $1800. You just have to be aware of deals.
