it's very easy .
take out the ashtray remove the 2 screws in there one screw by the shifter left side then you just pull the one piece right off there are 2 electircal connections that need to be disconnected before you completely remove

There are actually 4 screws in my ashtray, two low, two high, and un screw your stick shift knob if your a manual, not sure about autos. Don't forget to disconnect the wires to the cigarette lighter. I've only done it about a billion times.

theres the 4 screws in the cig lighter, one next to the shifter, one under the dash by the steering wheel. just pop off the piece and disconnect the wires to the cig lighter, flashers and the button for the headlight washer on the older models
