As far as exhaust, the best way to go is with a good header and a larger, less restrictive exhaust system. The header will give you the best gains. Look for a good quatlity header, one with a good coating. The six cylinder sounds much better than a 4 cylinder engine, but if you can still get too annoying with the exhaust noise resonance inside the car with not a good enough type of muffler.

K&N stock replacement filter is better than any cold air system? How come all the highly modified supras I've seen have cai? And how would a cold air filter get wet?

Any recommendations/links to some high quality headers? Also, I've read that 2.5" is optimal exhaust size for a na engine car...Is this true?

ive heard knn is best but i dunno... as for exhaust, ive heard between 2.5-2.75"
or 2.5-3"... dunno...lol im not much help.

It could get wet because of the positioning of the filter. CAI filters are in a place that leaves them highly susceptible to spray from tires, other cars, etc. when it's raining.

I'm looking for a good header as well... I have an 86.5 NA Supra... suggestions would be amazing. :-D

There isn't one that fits the supra, but there IS one that fits the K&N FPIK. www.horsepowerfreaks.com sells a 6" inlet, 5" Element Dry flow that will fit the K&N FPIK setup.

If you want a cold air intake make sure to put a K&N Precharger or whatever its called on there, its like an anti-water condom for your Cold air to help reduce the risk of water getting on/in the filter, seriously though, CAI produces very little power for the risks.
