Default mkIII probs, starts then dies and then not at all

ok, i got fuel, got spark... randomly she will crank up and run, then as a tease she shuts off, well we hooked a light up to the injector harness and as u turn the key the injector pulses twice then stops, when it pulses the car starts.... well we ran codes and came up with #14 ignition something or another..... well any ideas on what the hell this could be... the last owner said that his grand daughter was driving it home from school when it just cut off, so they pushed it home and it sat ever since untill my friend bought it. sooooo any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx

http://www.supras.org.nz/techinfo/TSRM/Default.htm Try this instead of the haynes. go step by step in the trouble shooting. My car was doing the same about 5 days ago, turned out to be the fuel pump. I had horrible fuel pressure. changed it and now its a beast again. Also when i first got the car it did the same thing, i unplugged the oxygen sensor and started right up and went fine. I was warned not to drive it with the oxygen sensor off because it could cause lean, rich problems. oh a new oxygen sensor (if it is the problem) is about $53.00 before shiping on this site http://oxygensensors.com hope this helps
