sbc swaps have been done before. i would do it. since you're a GM tech i can imagine you can get all sorts of performance parts dirt cheap. if you have a boat anchor LT1 lying around just throw it in there and mock it up to check for clearances. and yeah, if you decide to go this route please keep us informed with your progress. thanks.
