I think if you do a neat job at it, then that is what will determine if you did a good job of doing such a conversion. Their are valid reason why one should do a conversion such as: I had a car that needed a motor and a motor that I have had, so I combined them. But then again, I personally hate the sleepy eye look in a way you can't imagine, so I can also see how some people can hate some changes.
