When the factory alarm comes on, it will honk the horn, and flash the lights for a few minutes, then stop. The electrical power may be disconnected. NORMALLY...put the key into the door lock, and lock-unlock it, and it should reset.
Maybe you have to turn the key in the same direction 2x. There have been several threads on the alarm systems. Perhaps if it is still acting up, the answer may be found in one of those threads.
