supra suqs balls....thing is a peice of shit.....i get my shit with nothing wrong with it then 2 months later i get rodknock and the altinator keeps cutting on and off...now the alt dont work, the alt is brand new not even 3 months old....and i keep frying out the left taillight bulbs.....then the fuckin fuse box under the hood melts...i replace it and im still havin problems.....supras fuckin SUCK....theres no short anywhere btw.....the whole wire harness from the front to the back of the car was checked by a technition and no shorts....the fuse box is shitty...now is there anything i can do to this POS to fix the problems for good? or should i juss junk it n go bak to hondas.....:nuts:

sounds kinda like some of the fuses maybe wrong??? dont have any ideas as far as the alt goes. if you think the car is a money pit *sigh* id stop messing with it then.

sry to hear about the rod knock, but i disagree with your "supras sucks ballls" statement. as far as the alt, take it in and have it checked or replaced, if the voltage regulator is shot, then it can put out too much voltage and melt stuff..? just a thought. that or id take it to a different mechanic, it still could be a short somewhere thats making the alt work too hard? make sure you have the correct bulbs installed also..

Maybe it is just your supra that suck mines is running perfect.I dont mean to be rude but if you dont like supra why are you on this website n why do u have a supra??just sale it.hope everything works out for u and u come to liking supras as much as i do

ive seen bad altinators right out of the box, but it sure sounds like something is drawing too much power and making it work too hard. take it back to where you bought the alt, they should test it or replace it for free if its bad...bring your reciept..

your taillight blows because there is water leaking into the boot from around the bolts holding the spoiler down. the moisture + heat kills them. my reverse lights go, sometimes brake lights. or your tail light lenses. or your rear window ( i've reglued everything back there but the window )

check the amp ratings of the fuses in the fried box against the new one, make sure no one put bigger fuses in. what did the technician check ? just a short circuit would *tik* a fuse, not melt a fusebox.

describe your alt problem ? is it starting trouble you notice later, or does the alt light come on ? this is prolly cos of the fuse box problems. loose wire or something causing the voltage drop and resistance that melts a fusebox. start with small stuff like the plugs on the back of the alt, and clean and tighten the battery terminals.

do you live in south island of new zealand ? cos if you do i have a spare alt for my supra, a spare few wiring *everything* off another clapped out supra ... and if yours is for sale cheap ... mmm sleepy eyes ...

well..i dont have wing so i dont think thats the reason my bulbs blow out....umm...also the fuse/relay box in the engine bay melted on me once...replaced it and shit was fine...then now the alt goes...but its new...ummm...my passenger side back seat gets soaked all the time and stays wet but there arent any noticable leaks in the car at ALL...and juss now the fuckin heater motor fried out....and when i press the brake the lights go on in the dash.....when i first get into my car n start it the brake lights flicker when im not touching the brake.....idk...soo much shit happened just in one week...when i got the car it was perfect....i been a supra fan for years but all these problems are makin me switch tables here...

I would just sell it and either get another one, or just go back to your hondas. SOunds like your pretty pissed at this one. THey can't all be winners.

yeah shits rediculous....i found the prob wit the power shit...my alt is shot...malfunctioned from factory...and i dont have the recipt cuz i got the car with the new alt in from the previous owner 2 months ago....n he lost it...now a new one is 130$!!!!!! FUCK NO shit aint worth it....these stock parts cost like 3x the price of some high performace good shit for a honda or nissan....so i decided...im sellin this shit...these mk3's aint worth a penny...its the 93.5 n up that are the shit....i can build a honda motor that will run 13 seconds for 6-700$....ill have to spend 10,000$ to make a mk3 a 13 second car...fuck that...or a muscle car...dont even need madd money to run 13 seconds...imagine what i can do to a honda or nissan with 10,000$? run fuckin 9's....now i know why noone got supras in NY...cuz noone here wanna waste money...damn idk...i used to be obsessed wit supras...now i hate them:mad: :mad: :mad: :roflwtf:

Sometimes when you buy an old car, you may get a good one.
It really helps if you know about cars so that you can check them out really well.
One may get lucky and find a car that runs great and never needs anything.
Like my car, the only problem it had was the BHG and of course being in NY will eat a car up with the salt even if only driven a couple of those years of its life.

Sometimes, even if you do check them out, it may seem that a car is cursed! lol
Some get lucky; some don't.

Buying old cars is a risk indeed.
I would say that these Supras are very reliable cars, IF well maintained.
Regardless, MKIII's are still old and most have high miles.

If it is too much for you and you don't like it, sell it to someone who knows them better...and would cure the sleepy eye deal too. lol (Just kidding.)

It happens ! More often that it should. The wrecking yards are full of these stories.

I looked back the other nite while lying in bed, and realized I've owned 52 cars and trucks. Only one was brand new, a Camry (great car, 3.5 yrs of nothing but oil changes).

Buying a used vehicle means sometimes you are purchasing someone else's trouble mobile. Some are worth the $$$, others aren't even worth the price of a tow. Many times you won't find out till it breaks down on you, usually when you're out on a date with that new girl. (very impressive !!)

I have always told people to get a professional mechanic to look the vehicle over before buying it. They can give you an estimate of any needed repairs. Then you will know what you need to fix to enjoy it. Or walk away from a bad deal.

My old chineese proverb saying is: "Man made it, so it will break !!! (man needs to sell parts to feed family)"........
