Default supra update

Some of you may cry when you read this.

I got a 87 turbo supra and my plans for the car is something fun to drive to work.

I gutted the ac, powersteering, every available extra bracket, sound deading material, climate control, headliners carpet..everything! pretty blue interior everyone is dying for but lazy me threw it all away.
I put a 50 shot of nitrous on via wet kit. and boost is still at stock.
Overall im pretty happy with the cars performance considering its 3600 ish lbs.
I think I mus've took 300 pounds off the car as soon as the drivers seat comes out. looks like its turning into a track car im already making molds for the doors for fiberglass, and buying some lexan for the windows.

oh and nitrous helps alot, even a small 50 shot. (ill be doing a 100 shot at the track on race gas)

So... You bought a car to drive to work and you gutted it and now decided it is a better track car? ?? So people are after the blue interior? I'm planning on redoing my interior (blue) after I get the car painted to match whatever color I decide. Interesting.

Find me a shadow gray interior to buy and I'll sell you my full blue interior for cheap.

lol why do you say that. timing is at stock and if i up the boost ill just use 100+ octane fuel. Motor only has 50k on it from last rebuild compression and leak down was good.

If it blows then so what give me an excuse for forged internals.

do you have 100 oct from your pumps? the highest we got in md in 93. i dont think i would want a daily drive that runs off of race gas

jp3z, hes talking about running race gas at the track because of the 100 shot of N2O he will be running. Yes, running race gas is a much safer way to keep your internals . But you should be more worried about burning a hole in the top of your pistons than spinning bearing. More boost/nos = hotter spark = higher chance of detonation (unless running a reliable fuel ie. 100+ octane. You said your car was around 3,600 lb? I read something about a stock Turbo 5speed 1987 supra was weghing in at around 2900lb's. How does yours weigh so much??? Hows that for my first post?

3600 lbs for a stock targa turbo mk3. 2900lbs is in the neighborhood of an mk2 82-early 86.
