Conversion parts with the tranny will run you about $600 from the forums.
Keep in mind that you may be also able to sell your old parts, but not for the same price, most likely. Suprra_Girl wrote a post on this topic: (post two) http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...read.php?t=354 I, too, mentioned what is needed and some other info for a potential buyer in my thread: http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...4&postcount=15 Hope that helps. willing to work
Well its going to be some work.Im sure once your done it will be worth it.I have a stick and love it to death. If your ride is in as good condition as you say I wouldnt sell it/trade it cause it may take a while to find one that meets your standards compared to the other.Take the time and deal with the conversion.I see Suprra_Girl posted some good information (via Tony!) that you can use.You ready for all that ?

I am about to buy a 1JZ-GTE VVTI from tigerjapanese.com; the motor came from an automatic, and I wondered if that would create any complications with fitting it to a '88 turbo 5 speed.

You will have to get a 1jz bell housing. You also might have to cut a little piece out were the shifter is because it might sit a bit to far back.

Coolness. Thank you for the help sorry but i also had another question for anybody out there. I'm getting the VVT-I to improve overall torque. low and high. I was wondering if having high-flowing heads lowers the low-end torque and raising high-end? I know that's silly to ask, but it happens go big with power 'turbos, cams, compression, connecting rods, etc'; and sometimes science just works weird.
