On a front wheel drive or any strut suspension (the supra isnt sruts they just look like them) if you lower it too much it messes up the camber rise, so the camber plate is to adjust the camber back out so it isnt messed up. I dont know why people call them struts, and get strut braces, i cant see what these would do. i thought the supra was front and rear struts because the mounts look like it, till i took the wheels off, just regular double wishbones. well rear is multi link. whatever. haha

A good general rule for life...

Buy Cheap, Buy Twice...

If a part is more then you are willing to spend at the time, wait until you can buy the good one, don't waste your money on a cheap alternative to last until you buy the good one. It is just foolish.

it's because of your 18" rims with the low profile tires. with the low profile tires you will feel practically every bunp in the road

Thats true too. the reason most luxury cars have big fat tires is to soak up bumps. i think the tires actually help more than a soft suspension in absorbing bumps. BTW, does anyone know if eibach lowering springs affect the handling for the better? and what are some lsightly stiffer non-tems shocks i could use? 'cause i do want to lower my car an inch or 2 as well.

Does any one know if lowering springs put more stress on your shocks? Are they more likely to blow your shocks out?

I already lowered it!

Funny that I see this thread back up, because just two days ago I lowered the car.

I will get some bashing for sure, I know, because I didn't go too expensive.

My car is NON-TEMS, and I just wanted good shocks because mine were NOT too good. At least the rear ones, they were kinda tired. I didn't want adjustable shocks or anything. My car's not a race car, it's a daily driver. So when I read on a webpage a little review about KYB GR-2 shocks, it said "think of these as what the stock ones should've been!" .. it said good things about them. And in some places, some people rated them higher than the Tokico Blue ones (or Tokico HP). I got my shocks for 155$ shipped! All 4! How could I resist?

The springs, I wasn't so cheap with. I bought Eibach Pro Kit which was around 230-240 shipped.

The car looks GREAT now. It lowered just a bit on the rear, and more on the front, which is exactly what I wanted.

-It is lowered enough to look FIIIIIIINE!
-It is high enough to go over stuff without me suffering because stuff is hitting the buttom of my car, hah. So I have no problems for daily driving.

Say what you wish, but I'm loving the setup...

Post up some pics... Don't do all of that bragging and leave us to our imaginations!!!

Soon!

No! I will upgrade to 89+ JDM mouldings this week, and upgrade the front end to an 89+, with euro fogs and clear turn signals. I will post pics AFTER that is done. So give me a week or two. I'm hoping it's done by the weekend, but they always take much longer than one wishes.

So does anyone know if lowering is harder on your shocks?
