Default NA power range??

Does anybody know when an 88 na supra has most of its power, at what RPM? When is the best time to shift to the next gear without losing power and speed? I have a few mods, full exhaust, headers, intake.

Peak power is probably in the 5600-6000 range. If you floor it and shift around this rpm you should stay in the power band. I'm pretty sure the turbo makes 232 hp at 5600 rpm. Very similar engines... Go out and drive, then you'll know for sure, on a closed course hehehehe.

Of course the best way is to dyno the car and see what the numbers show. I don't know if anyone here has done that or posted anything, but again I think suprra_girl has some numbers handy but not sure where she is these days.

I know I can feel the car really surge from about 4500 rpms to about 6000 then it starts to flatten out. It sounds great, but with the stock intake it just won't breath very well past that point. To bad too because with the 4 valve setup and a nice looking intake it really could stand a much better intake system. Mine is an N/A. You can play with the cam timing and make the engine come in sooner or later as far as the power band goes.
