Blow-off valves
what's the highest pressure you can safely run on a 7m-gte before you need to get a blow-off valve, and do they increase performance at all (sorry, im just dumb and don't know anything)

I believe u should get a BOV if u are running anything higher then stock boost... I'd get one anyway... nice sound and lets off the extra pressure... it's just a good thing to have all around

there should be a stock bov installed with all turbos,, just its vented into your accordian hose to you dont hear the psssshhhhttt. but if you up the boost, id think about getting a bigger bov as the stock bov is small.

if it builds boost, it must have some way of releasing pressure when you back off the gas or shift.. Last edited by joel williams; 12-10-2005 at 03:43 PM. |

Ya, 7m-GTE's have a blow-off. Well really it's a bypass valve because it vents pressure back into the intake track as mentioned previously.

Just get the blow off valve and save yourself the worry of doing damage with the stock one.Yes there is a stock one but its small, ugly, and dont make that hissing air sound.Sounds great dont it?

it will if you vent it to the atmosphere instead of back into the accordian hose..
