just look in your local paper and see if someone is parting a supra out... what year is yours?.. they came with 3.7 and 3.9 in north america i believe... try the for sale/wanted section and see if anyone has one

Never do this unless you are only on a drag strip, or dirt. Think about it. Why is the diff there?? so you can go around corners !!!

Default rears

i have 4 supras, 3 turbo and one n/a. two of the turbos are wrecked, so i took a turbo motor out and put it in the n/a body. The n/a has 4.3 gears with a posi, the other good turbo is 3.73 with a posi, but it slips, is there anywhere i could get just a rebuild kit for the posi? I know one of the wrecked turbo's has 3.73's, im not sure about the other one...never checked it.

The posi is supposed to slip so you can corner without ruining your tires. Make sure you have good lubricant in the rear end. I am not sure about this part, but I had a Jag that had limited slip and when the rear tires were up and you spun them they would both turn the same direction. I think the Supra's are that way too. If they spin opposite then there is no working posi or limited slip rear end, but I could be wrong about that. All I know is that after 190,000 miles, mine is still working and it does get used a few times.

I had a friend try a trick on me telling me he had just got an MIG locker in his Corolla. MIG??? I hadnt heard of it but sounded right. Of course MIG as in MIG weld, a backyard weld job. lol. Try it on someone. I believed him as his Corolla had a VN v6 in it, and needed a locker.
For a Supra, you'd be crazy to put a locked set up in it unless all you do is race and dragstrip. The LSD is good.

We use welded up rear diffs in our dirt track cars, but we have to use a staggered set of tires to get it to roll through the corners easier, but the compromise is that is also has to go straight too. Try pushing a car with the rear welded up! It is almost impossible, especially trying to turn it and push at the same time. For drifting and driving in the mud all the time it is worth welding. Street driving, no way!
