Default Help!

I recently bought an '87 turbo Supra with all the options. All it needs is to have the rod bearings replaced, and it will run just fine.. not bad for $750. The car had been sitting for a few years, and I found it out in the middle of nowhere practically. After an oil change, and awhile to let it warm up, I was able to drive it the 20 or 30 miles home. Everything was perfectly fine, but then a few days later I was looking under the hood, closed it slowly, put my hand on it, and pressed it until it shut. I didn't slam it. Now, the hood won't open. The release lever works, you can hear it trying to disengage, but the hood just won't release. And, without my hood open, I can't fix the car. Does anyone know what could be causing this, or of a way that i could get it to open? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The hood shocks are most likely blown. Opening the hood that one time probably finished off those old deteriorated seals inside the shock. I have to lodge my key in the hood release in the pulled position and pry my fingers under the hood if I want to see the engine by myself.

Yo dude. Welcome to the forums. I'm 18 myself so u got a peer here. I agree with bullzeye. It could also be that one of the screws wasn't tightened enough at the hinge and it wont disengage because of the hood release. So if you do get it open check that. And if it does it again you can adjust the position of the hood release so that maybe it wont do it. And again thats if bullzeyes answer doesnt work. Keep postin with any problems. This forum is insanely helpful. Later guy.

Thanks alot guys, I'm gonna check and see if that might be the cause of my problems. And it's good to know that I'm not the only young guy in here. I'll let you know how things turn out.
