Like powerseal or total seal rings?

I belive chrome rings have a very.. intricate process to break them in. I chose cast because of that.

I know a guy who's broken in a million sets of them, however. If they're total/power seal or just plain chrome, let me know and I'll ask him.

I've seen a few sets go. Most comically in a VW Bug that dude thought was fast. Haha. Broke in the cam and what not by letting it idle for 20 minutes, then trailered it to the track and tore up... everything. Whole motor was just about shot.

Default on airplanes.

well on a totally unrelated vehical,

My my pop uses chrome ring and chrome jugs in his new rebuilt cont. pee paunk airplane motor, i guess they acid etch the jugs which causes cracks in the cylinder surface, This allows the rings to seat? he is supposed to run only mineral oil in it for 50 hrs at full rpms just to get them to seat correctly. hes at 55 hrs on the motor now and there still not seated fully yet. so complex and wierd to say the least... but once they seat. your golden... probably completely different breakin procedures for cars, but I thought i would share what i know about them..
