Default Oil Cooler Advice

Im looking into buying an oil cooler for my 7M to finish my swap and need advice on a good cooler and was wondering if i could use -6AN lines instead of -8AN because the remote head and filter relocation i bought has -6AN fittings

-8AN -6AN That's barely larger than the oil feed for the turbo (which is -4AN). Think -10AN....

I don't have any parts lists laid out if that's what you're asking for and I don't know of anyone who has a full kit available. I've always gone with -10AN or 1/2" NPT (1/2" NPT is larger than -8 but smaller than -10AN). For the filter head I recommend getting one which enters and exits straight out the top (so the oil doesn't have to turn 90?), avoid 90? bends and fittings where possible. Use a thermostat. -8AN isn't terrible but given how far you're going to be diverting the oil I wouldn't use it if you're installing a full flow setup... I should have asked that first I guess: Are you installing a full flow system?

I would be interested to see how an oil cooler off of a 3S/5S engine would perform on the MKIII. You'd probably want it installed as a bypass cooler (kind of how the stock 7M-GTE's is plumbed) and could probably skip the thermostat. It's a water cooled setup.

yeah i plan on running a full flow system i found a kit with -10AN fittings and a thermostat, then ill use the NA piece for the filter head, one more thing I hear alot of talk about Lexus AFMs and i have a LS400 from a friend but is that stock or an upgrade? I'm kinda new to supras (i paid 200$ for mine and all it needed was a battery and clutch reservoir) but not new in the mechanic industry.

The Lexus AFM housing is 25% larger than the 7M-GTE's.... Thus you also need larger injectors (550cc/min) and preferably a fuel controller to fine tune everything.
