Oil Pan Replacement

Hey guys so I want to replace the oil pan the easiest way possible. So what are the steps I would have to do to change it? Will I have to drain fluids, do i have to remove a lot of parts, etc? All the tips and help are appreciated, thanks!

you dont HAVE to drain the oil but i would highly recomend it lol, unless you like being coverd in oil. a lift is a huge help it would suck doing it on your back in the drive way

2 ways disconnect every thing connected to the motor and lift it some to get the pan. Or lower the k-member.

Absolutely drain the oil no matter how you go about pulling the pan. You need CLEAN, DRY surfaces for the FIPG to seal well or you'll be leaking again in no time. What else you need to drain depends on how you go about pulling the pan. I would save yourself a lot of headache and just drain all the oil and coolant from the beginning. Then disconnect the radiator hoses, unbolt the A/C compressor and P/S pump, disconnect the exhaust down pipe at any point before the cat, raise the engine as much as you can (watch that you don't crush any of the heater hoses or damage any of the wiring that runs along the firewall), lower the cross member and pull the pan. It's a crap job and I think if I had to do it again I might just pull the whole engine instead.

PS, Don't use a gasket! Just get some Toyota FIPG, Honda's FIPG is quite good too, or some "Right Stuff" and seal it as specified in Toyota's service manual.

Thanks for all the tips! And Cre thanks for a thorough walk through, I probably would rather pull the engine, but I just went through the swap and just don't want to deal with pulling it again, so I'm probably going to go with the way you suggested. By the way have you ever done the oil pan job by keeping the engine in and dropping the cross member, and do you think this way would be harder and more time consuming?
