well...theres a gasket...lol so gasket could have gone crappy. Or the 6-8 or 10 bolts could be somehow loose.... Why dont u just take off the egr plate, and block them off...thats wat i did, u dont need it and it will make the temp across 5th & 6th cylinders not be real high.

The system does dick to the temps across 5 and 6 and it's entire purpose is to REDUCE combustion cylinder temps which you'll find are key to better performance, reducing ping and better gas mileage. There's no reason to remove the system beyond laziness and ignorance short of a track dedicated vehicle where swift rebuilds are a must and a common occurrence.
Additionally, it's only active at low-medium loads... There's definitely not a heat issue if there's nothing running through the EGR cooler when the loads are high. ![]() |
