I want to add that I haven't successfully modified one. I've been assured by someone who's done it that the sender is all that needed modification. It's easy enough to verify this claim by powering the gauge and placing a potentiometer between the the sensor line and ground.

Ok i get it. The gauge its self will read spikes and drops well on its own but the actual sender is dampend, so now the hard task of how to make the sender undampend or in other words more accuret

I wouldn't expect the gauge to be too responsive but you should be able to get a bit better out of it. I'm still not 100% confident that the sender is really where the bulk of the dampening lies. If someone wants to mail me one of each (which are expendable) I'll take another look and try out some adjustments on the bench.
