Those are some steep goals.

If you're short on money, you should lighten the car.

These cars are notoriously heavy. I'd start by ripping out every chair but the drivers chair, put in a tube roll cage(expansive, yes), chop out all sound insulation, all unnessicary metals everywhere, after the roll cage you can cut into the actual frame and loose some serious weight. REALLY stiff motor mounts.

You'll also have to get rid of the limited slip diff and put in a full spool locker(so you'll loose most of the cars cornering.. aside from potent drifting.)

Take some pictures if you manage to get in the 9's club, though. Good luck matey.

There is of course a more radical way to get the power you will need to get the speed you are looking for. That would be to drop a Chevy 350 in there. I don't know if there is room, but then the power parts would be unlimited and relatively cheap compared to the Toy engine. Like someone said, you can't beat cubic inches.............or cubic dollars.

Big Turbo and nitrous is about the only way to get the numbers you are looking for. The car is heavy and the engine doesn't have a lot of cubic inches. But if you do upgrade the compression and go with some nice cams and headers and a set of side draft carbs, you will have a very fast car and nothing sounds as good as a straight 6 turning lots of rpms, sucking in a lot of air!

running 8 or 9's is a very very big goal....start small..work your way up it might take a year it might take longer its a process, if you dont want it streetable...just rip everything out..and i mean everything..seats, lining, floor mats, everything...if you want to make it a street car...8 or 9's wont be practical....i would say around 12 or 13's would be more practical for an mk3 street car
