Default Brake light problems

Alright, simple enough. im buying a buddies 86.5 supra. 7mge stock mostly and a little less than 70000 miles. we both work on cars fairly reguraly. he hates foreign cars so he never looked at it. i love all cars. i think its a beautiful car. it hasnt ran in a few years. so i changed the oil, bled the clutch, and various other fluid changes. we ran it a little bit only to notice that no matter what the brake lights are on.. e-brake isnt engaged, im not on the brakes. but theyre always on..even when the car is off. they only turn off when the battery is unplugged.. im new to supras and i have legit no idea if this is common or im gunna need to redo the electrical system.. which wouldnt be too hard as i do HVAC for a living and im pretty good with electrical problems. anyone have any ideas what it could be or how i can find out what it is before i start tearing shit apart? Thanks

Default hold on

before you take everything apart, look at one thing for me. check behind the dashboard(you can look without takes anything apart i should mention) where the brake pedal is and look for the brakes switch. there should be a liltle rubber spacer in between the brake pedal and the switch that was glued onto the pedal.

Definitely a switch problem.

Lol nah. Every vehicle I own needs rebuilt or is a ford and I just drive till I break it. I hate ford. I've rebuilt that four banger twice in the last year. Hopefully the straight six in the supra wont need anything too bad. Im gunna replace the hg before anything goes wrong. But thanks for all the help
