I suppose my post was a bit confusing. Vehicles made AFTER 8/90 use a different oil pan... This means '86.5, '87, '88 are the same; '89 and '90 are the same; '91, '92 and '93 are the same. I do not know precisely what the differences are though; There was a subframe change in '89 and I suppose there may have been another after '90 or the difference may be structural.

Which do you have a '90 or a '91? What's the manufacture date on the car?

According to the vin code it is a 91 model. We don't have the car just the vin code.

Looks like the oil pump changed with the oil pan revisions too. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Librar...t.aspx?S=15100

Anyway, sounds like you need a '91+ oil pan and pump.

can't speak for after 1990, but I'm pretty sure the 87-90 pans all fit. The big difference I have seen in them is that the steering rack changed between 88 and 89, but I have an engine from an 87, and have a 90 and they seem identical on the outside(size and shape wise).
