Default oil pressure & oil leak damn 7m!

I have a 91 supra 7mgte, I have been doing most the work myself. I got a jdm 7mgte engine cahnged some gaskets and 4 months later I have a problem with an oil leak! it's coming from the front passenger side below header there are so many wires i cant see where exactly its coming from anyone have a pic of a engine pulled that would show hoses, and from front of turbo to the front of the engine below headers? I have not had a good oil pressure as long as I have had the car the gauge will work on RPMs higher than 2800 but will be at zero at idle or when driving at lower than 2800 rpms.

You should check the o-ring on the cam position sensor. Oil can leak out of there and drip down to the exhaust manifold or get blown back by the fan. It could also be valve cover gaskets or cam seals. Those are common problems. After checking those, I would look at the oil pressure sender and the turbo oil line seals.

As far as your oil pressure, once warmed up, you should be at 4-7 psi at idle and 35+ at about 3000 RPM.

Okay 2 questions in 1, if i was to take off the cam position sensor (1.witch is infront of the engine behind the powersteering res) 2.not knowing what im doing could i mess up the engine as far as not putting it back in right? i can see now that i do have a leak from there but im sure i have more than just that one leak.

This will show you how to remove and reinstall it. I would also mark the position of the bolt with paint or something as it will help you to get the timing set right (or pretty close) after reinstalling. I definitely would check the timing afterward, just to make sure all is good. It's easy to be off a tooth after reinstalling. You can't really "mess up the engine". It will just run like crap, if at all, if it isn't installed correctly.

If you remove the accordian hose, you should also check the oil pressure sender and the copper crush washer on the turbo oil line as you will have easy access to them. These are a couple other places that could possibly be leaking.

Okay I think I have everything I need but I have one more question in the CPS diagram from the Cygnus website that SupraJim posted (right above this post) It shows an o-ring at the end of diagram now correct me if im wrong but thats not where the O-ring goes correct? it goes here right? Or does it have one on the other side of gear on the shaft(@end far left of pic) and one on right where it says O-ring in yellow? Original post by Bill UK.. http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...on-sensor.html

There is only the one o-ring, and it goes exactly where it is in that image you posted, after the gear and alignment teeth
