Default Mk111 turbo won't start

Ok here's the deal. 1987 mkiii turbo won't start. We got this car a few years back and it ran just fine but needed a few parts suspension wise so was parked until we could afford it. So pulled it out a few weeks ago. Replaced the battery = nothing. So jumped it off and starter was bad so replaced that but now still won't crank and we tried to manually crank and nothing. Disarmed the security system that was recommended by a friend but still nothing. When you depress the clutch and turn the key you hear a thunk and that's it. Any suggestions?

Simple stuff first. Have you checked the condition of the ground wire from the battery to the block as well as the positive wire? Use an multimeter. They may have corroded from sitting so long and not allowing enough current to pass. They also like to corrode where the wire is crimped to the terminals.

The wire is not corroded and the current is fine. Just starting to get so frustrated with this electrical business. Have to now replace the turnsignal switch. HeadLights will not turn off when the battery is connected. passenger door window will not roll up so need to check the connectors on that but all that needs to wait until I can hopefully get the motor to turn over. If that happens then will worry about the others. Enough of my rambling. Should I try atleast to take out the distributer and see if I can hand turn it again. I just don't want to replace a bunch of parts unnecessarily if the motor is seized. I don't think it is but I'm really starting to doubt myself. I removed the ECM and am taking it to the dealer to get reflashed in the morning.

Default very simple check

is the wire that goes from the harness between the head/intake hooked up? should be a black wire with a blue stripe, plugs into a hard to see spot on the starter, its the switch wire for the starter to engage, if it is just start working your way back, relay, clutch depression switch, ignition switch, checking all grounds along the way, had this same problem after i replaced a BHG and it was simply the wire

I will check in the morning. Thanks. I have been going through my tech manual to see if there is anything else. Been staring at all of the diagrams. Seeing that the fusible link is a cause of alot of the issues that are going on so will check all that in the morning too. Will let you know what I found in the morning.

Default New day same problem

Alright well checked the wiring from the starter and solenoid and I noticed a green plug above and right in front of the starter that is not plugged into anything and I can't find where it is supposed to plug into. Any ideas

Ok another question. We removed the spark plugs to lessen the compression and tried to pull it to see if the motor would turn. All we got was tires dragging. Tried in 5th to 1st gear. In a chevy or dodge the motor is seized. But I have heard different from others when it come to the supra. Is that correct that it is something else or is it seized?

i would say try a breaker bar to turn the motor over. if you did that and couldnt get it to turn over, prolly siezed :/

dragging with the car in gear doesnt always work.

you can always hotwire the starter to turn things over.

the green plug im trying to remember what it goes too. could you post a pic of it?

idk what the green plug could go to, i know thats not the one for the starter, the one for the starter will have a female end for a connector that goes into the side of the starter kinda on the back towards the passenger side IIRC, i spotted the connector with a mirror and had a hard time gettin the wire plugged into it
