sweet deal. do a compression test on it. pretty good deal if all the other stuff was done correctly

ok i plan on doing a commprshion test on it , how do you do that on a car motor? is it the same as a small engine ?

id assume its the same, never dont small motor tests. ull need a compression tester (any chain auto parts store), the screw in kind is more accurate.

take all the plugs out, hook the starter up to a battery, put some oil into each cylinder through the spk plug hole (just a lil), install the compression tester into the first plug hole, crank the motor over 6-10 times, or until the pressure gauge levels off. repeat process for remaining cylinders.

anywhere between 150-180 is good. but you want to see them all within 10psi of each other. any more variance and you want to find out why they are lower. a leak down test is also a good idea.
