It's for the vomit from the hood scoop... the car needs some way to express itself.
Seriously though, was the hood cut for that scoop? (please say no) If the bumper measures up as even where the hood comes down and the radiator support is level compared to bumper and frame then you most likely just need to adjust the stops.... look like big black pencil erasers; Otherwise, the hood's warped.

Threaded Mode
