i believe the firewall needs tapped in only if he is doin a 2jz....he could also use a turbo lsd rear differential....correct me if im wrong, but with a 1jz swap, u could drill a hole through the firewall under the speedo, send the wire harness through there and flip the ecu so that the plugs are on the leftside...

For the 2j your lookin atleast 3 inches in about a 6" diameter area. The harness through the speedo hole is rumored. But It would be very difficult to route it into the correct location IMHO. But there is guys in cali running them that way!
