anyone?

nope your bic ddp won't fit that setup... you can get one for the SP turbos i believe but that's about it

to get that setup to work on any car you will need a custom exhaust elbow & flange made

the problem being that I dont even know the diff between a turbo timer and a boost controller.

I need help :p

ahh... k hehe.. you shoulda said ;)

turbo timer will keep your engine running for however long you have set it when you turn your key off and pull it out of the ignition....

turbo time down :) keeps your turbo in happy healthy condition

boost controller: they come in alot of forms, single stage, dual stage, triple stage, manual bleed off type

whatever boost controller you get (2 stage electronic is usually best) will control the wastegate that hangs off the side of the turbo... instead of your wastegate opening at 6 or 7psi stock... the boost controller will hold it closed for longer therefore you end up with more boost

quite kool little toys ;)

Prez420 09-21-2005 01:13 PM

I still dont quite understand the timer. how does it keep the turbo healthy? you will have to excuse my stupidity, but I need to know before I buy.

does having the DDP change anything with the boost controller?

what stage is this?.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

what are my options when it comes to upgrading the turbo with the DDP?

and if I do upgrade the turbo, what are my options as far as new headers?
and what are my options WITHOUT an upgraded turbo?

so many options... I love it

suprra_girl 09-21-2005 01:22 PM

the turbo timer cools down the turbo by allowing it to idle... running more oil through it and cooled water

it also helps with heat soak

a few ppl have found that when they go to the shop & stop then buy whatever they're gonna do then come back to the car it's a little harder to start

so by running the engine for a min before shutdown is just good overall... you need a fancy $200 turbo timer, just as long as it is settable for 1min to say 5mins it'll work fine :)

the boost controller doesn't get altered by the ddp

Prez420 09-21-2005 01:28 PM

suprra_girl you are a wealth of information. thank you very much. what stage is that controller I pasted in my last post?

and how long would I want my engine running after I shut down? just one min?

suprra_girl 09-21-2005 01:36 PM

too be honest i'm not up to the play with all of HKS's product

i'm sure someone else here is familar and can let you know if it's bleed off or electronic and what stage it is :)

i believe the sp58gt turbo takes the ddp and then of course the ct26

well the sp58's can bolt straight on to our manifold (aapmotorsports is currently offline) but heres some turbos :)

as i'm typing a reply u've already written another LOL

it depends on how hard you've been boosting

if just cruising no boost you can leave it for 10-20secs then switch off
if a bit of boost here n there a wot here n there about 40secs
if you have been boosting hardcore right before you arrive at your destination yeps 1-2min will do ya :)

Prez420 09-21-2005 02:35 PM

so many F'n turbo options... geez. endless and complicated. I need a teacher. ~sigh~

Id love to buy a kit, but it comes with alot fo stuff I wont need... filter, intake pipes, downpipes... I have all that already.

thanx for all the info and links suprra_girl. again your wealth of info is very appreciated.
