Question No ignition coil spark. Plz help!!

Hey everyone, Just finished my head gasket problem. Tried to start the car at first and didnt have enough power. Ended up getting a new battery and it turns over fine but it doesnt start. Went and checked the ignition coil and there was no spark.

I took it to my friends house and hooked it up to his car, which is the same exact car as mine and his is 100% stock and restored, It worked fine on his car. I even used my coil wire on his car and it still worked fine. Can someone let me know what im doing wrong???

p.s. The car stopped running before i took it appart to do the head gasket.

Look through the TSRM to diagnose no spark situations. It's possible that your igniter has gone bad. That's just one of many items that can stop the system from sparking though

Is the igniter in the same place as the coil?

Well, it depends on the engine. Now that I re-read your post, it seems that you have a 7MGE engine since you swapped out the coil instead of coil packs... I know that the GTE uses an igniter on the fender, but I can't remember how the GE is set up (don't currently have one). Maybe someone can pop on here and give a little more information.

Have you been reading through the TSRM to troubleshoot this?

Well, I would follow this link to the TSRM. This one's on the ignition system, so just follow the troubleshooting guide.
