Default ruff start!

soo
when i start my car, cold start or hot, it will sometimes idle ruff and shut off.
specially when i am trying to back out of a parking spot at the crowded mall
this isnt good..
this is the only time my car will do that, (right when i go to start it)
soon as i get it running its fine.. even when im idling at a stop light.

whats the problem?

i thought it was a vacuum leak, I.E my bvsv, which was cracked. so i bypassed the vacuum hoses til i got the new bvsv and hooked it up and it still does it..

so what can it be?

Check for diagnostic codes. Test the TPS alignment when cold and when hot, particularly the IDL switch. Test, inspect and clean the ISC (idle speed control) valve. Check to see if fuel is coming from the cold start injector at ay time other then when the starter is cranking... make sure it's clean too and that it sprays when the starter is cranked (read the TSRM on testing it). Lastly, test the air flow meter. The VAFM is relatively easy to test where as it's harder to really know with the KVAFM that the GTE uses unless you've got an accurate scope and know how to use it.

one vac line to check is the one on the bottom of the intake pipe to the turbo. this goes to the power sterring pump. mine did the same thing and it was that hose, who every changed the air filter didnt put it back on

I just got done replacing the CPS O-ring on my supra. If the timing is not set exact the car will try to find the best timing electronically. It might be that you need to loosen the CPS and rotate it back and forth to find the right setting on your timing. I would use a timing light the crank pulley should have grooves on outer and inner lips of crank and should line up to 10 degrees.
I had the vacuum line off my intake for about a month until I pulled the intake system off to mess with CPS due to the lack of my mechanic not reconnecting everything back. Thats not your problem but I would want every vacuum line sound its a small hose going from almost directly underneath the Air flow meter you will see a little 90 degree elbow it has a line that goes under power steering reservoir. (between power steering and turbo)
