i don`t know too much about this engines but anything can happen , verify the timming belt or any blown fuse. good luck . Q

Well, if you're sparking that means your timing belt is at least intact (because your exhaust camshaft is spinning). The fuel pump should not prime until your cranking the engine over.
I assume the problem occurred because of how suddenly the engine stopped spinning (from stalling it out). Is your cam position sensor tight? You should not be able to move it at all by hand.

I checked the cam position censor and it is still tight and is not move-able by hand.
The car did shut off very quickly, but i don't believe i stalled. that was just my initial thought because i had no other reason why it would have shut off. I think its more likely when I touched the throttle it died. |

u said it backfires? did you check the spark plugs? start from the simple stuff first.
