"buy a rusty supra for its 5 speed tranny"

that way you get EVERYTHING not just a tranny. you get the pedals... cylinders...hardline... clutch... not to mention all the dirt boots and leather boot...

i posted "my sorry" before i read your new post..
ill see if i can find a rusty supra, idk if i can its not popular in my town,
literally,
there is only one supra in my town, its a 91 tt.

find the parts where you can. but the easiest would be to find a super cheap 5 speed supra. because im not sure if the cressidas 5 speed drive shaft will work in the supra.

good luck finding the parts.

ochowdero 09-09-2010 03:47 AM

wow i got an offer on a tranny
I GOT NO MONEY! >_> wack!

i know same here,
but
soon ill have my tranny,
quick question..
the w58, is it a good tranny? other words..i wanna eventually put turbo on..should i just get r154 or take the w58?

i wanna make sure im not spending money on something that i have to swap out later on..

The R154 weighs a good amount more but is FAR more robust. It's not as smooth shifting as the W58 though. You don't need the neutral start switch still in the car, remove the AT's computer and wire the NWS's two wires into the clutch safety switch.

You're going to need a lot of little parts too...

ochowdero 09-09-2010 04:42 AM

yeah, when the time comes, becuz i keep losing my list to the parts i would need for the w58 swap, ill post asking for a list
unless its possible for someone to do it now lol
which im sure it is..

Sonyps307 09-09-2010 01:21 PM

The w58 can only hold about 350-400 hp so if you plan on getting more u will want the r154

yes i should have included!

if your really motivated to do so, you can set up the wires so that the car will only start when the clutch is pushed in, just like a standard.

but personally i like having the switch under my hood, that way whan i park my car some where i don't want to, i know its not gona get stolen.

ive already listed what is required for the auto to w58 swap. and all this info should be posted in the FAQ.
