piggyback recomendations
i am interested in getting a sytem to run piggie back to my ecu or replace it, my veical i have is a 91 toyota supra with a motor swap from an 88 turbo supra incuding the ecu 5speed trans and motor, i have increased the pistions to 60 oversided forged wiseco pistions, an after market t67 turbo, eagle connecting rods h-beam, 28 thousants shaved from the block and head total, a 2mm thick meatal head gasket, t4 manafold w/ a 50mm waste gate, a generic blowoff valve a 3inch exsoust 18x12x3 intercooler, lexus afm, 550cc injector's, 255lph fuel pump, and alot more part's. im looking for 450-500 hp do you have any recomendations to what would run best, one more thing im not looking to spend 400+ us on a piggie back system but if it come's down to it im flexable...

The piggy back system I suggest you look into is the MAF Translator PRO.
Having said that, the basic unit will cost $400.00, with the complete system (Translator Pro, GM 3 bar MAP sensor, GM air temp sensor, 9' speed density harness, wide band sensor / harness, and boost control solenoid / harness) around $750.00. www.fullthrottlespeed.com is a good site to go for information and sales. WWW.horsepowerfreaks.com and www.suprasport.com sell the unit as well. |
With that much money in the engine build u will get the most bang for buck with a full standalone systems. I suggest bigger injector and turn the boost up. U have an almost bullet proof bottom end... u can reach 450 500 all day long. U might want to invest in some valvetrain from Brian crower. Why u aiming for such low power with that build + upgraded valvetrain id aim for 700.

thanx guys for you recomendation... travis thanx alot ive been down in the dumps this car has been sitting for almost a yr apart waiting for me to save money for parts and knowing someone thinks i will have a nice set up and all and belive's even more power is adtamble, well thanx aton. the fire i needed. i hope to ge tthis going befor the end of the yr. so what stand alone sytem's are desent on money and the funtions needed for power?
would the mega squirt sytem be worth getting? the system that requirs one to build the ecu them self's for the coustom use. |

I've been in those shoes before but it took me 3 yrs. U definatly have in my opinion the best bottom end u could build. Especially with the wiesco pistons cuz it raises the compression.... But unfortunately decent price and standalone don't belong in the same sentence. In my opinion id go with the aem they have been in the ecm/ecu business for a long time and are well known in the race community. But it does come at a cost at the top of my head its about $1400 us. Then dyno tuning on top of that. Do u have acces to a dyno? If u wanted to run a piggy back while u save up. I ran the AFC NEO AND it worked wonders for me with a plx A/f gauge but i had to still redirect bov to the intake and have that big ass Lexus Afm were the Maft pro eliminates that. The Maft pro sounds pretty nice I've actually done alot of research on it give me a minute ill post a link to the thread I had with CRE. They can be tricky to tune though. But if I were to do it again I'd go Maft pro. Found the link. Check it out its good info http://www.toyota-supra.info/forums/...lator-pro.html |
thanx man i checked out your link. so your doing a build also. well ive been getting good deal's on and off the chart's on part's now it is almost time to start paying out the real money i supose here are some fourm's ive had..
http://www.socalsupras.com/phpBB/vie...p?f=36&t=11824 http://www.socalsupras.com/phpBB/vie...p?f=36&t=11845 wow 3ys well this is my 3rd build first two time's were to bring it back to stock. na... well i found a donor car for 500!!! and well im almost done injector's, gaudes's some sensor's edits to the wireing harness and the battery relocator. 255lph fuel pump and then modify the intake manfold for front inlet insed of going over the motor,... and the ecu set up and dyno i can get it done for around 400, at a shop near that has a 1240 hp supra and a few other supra's and lexus's, and emition law's, here in alabama there arnt any. :) |
