Varmits

Yeah unbelievable!

I have been wearing that face on the last couple of test drives. It aint such a good feeling but I have a 5 speed, so I could clutch, and kill with the ignition. Brought it home by turning the key on and off cause it was struck at one throttle position. Must have had an acorn wedged in the butterfly. Several came out of the plenum.....GAWD!

If their not tearing into my air filters their plugging up my exhaust. One of my cars once was plugged so tight with a Varmit nest that the car would not start.

I cleaned everything up and put it back together minus the air filter. It starts and throttles normally now. Air Filter from AutoZone asap. Till then it's staying in the driveway.

All I can say is wow. Well atleast you found your problem.

Thanks SO Much

Yep, I will have her going again shortly. Thanks Guys, 907mge and the rest that chimed in. 907mge you sent me right to the problem. It was getting stuck. Because of the round shape of the acorn it would break free or unstick on shut down or if I went to see if the throttle was stuck. As soon as I would move the throttle body the acorn would roll free and I couldn't find a problem on exterior examination.

Thank You very much for your help.

The Dent

Why didn't you guys just beat the dent back out so it would clear the throttle linkage?

Green7mgte 05-31-2010 06:10 AM

he did eventually.. just funny to see him burn rubber at stop lights un intentional

Well Guys she's all good now, went to Home Depot and Autozone and bought what I think I need to cut the bad muffler off and attach a big round stainless free-flow exhaust. Should be fun trying to rig a hanger for it.

Test Drive today was flawless, except for the rear parking brake that has not let all the way go I guess. I can smell a slight odor of brake burning so I guess I will pull that wheel and look at it. PB Blaster to the rescue again. That stuff works great!

Anyway, mechanically she runs good! It's the little things now, like fixing the dome lights, replacing the wiper blades.Getting non cracked speakers into it. It's a Rollin but not Rockin just yet!

Sure is a delight to be back in a running Supra, you just feel good driving one!

haha shoulda taken pictures!

Don't expect those parking brake shoes to still have all the material left on them. When I did my rear brakes the other day I realized the one side had almost no material left.
