Default The 1JZ/7M Front facing intake manifold??

What cars do these intakes come off of?? Is it a direct bolt on/fit without having to modify anything major?

Thinking on getting one for my 7mgte, any help is appreciated.

i know come companies make a FFIM for the 7mgte at decent prices but remember you have to run different IC piping and new throttle body. for the cost of a used one off a 1jz or 2jz you can buy a brand new one with a 90mm throttle body.

Ok if I were, by any chance, able to get my hands on a 1JZ or 2JZ FFIM does it bolt right on? With throttle body?

my friend got his hands on a 2jz ffim and he said there were no issues. he bought a different (bigger than stock) throttle body for it. the only thing left was the IC piping, which he took measurements and bought some universal aluminum piping and made his own. so yes far as im aware everything will swap over. im sure if i was misled by my friend, and anyone here has information otherwise they will tell you...

Ok cool I really appreciate it.

So is there any power gain with one of those?

heck ya. just the drop in air temp going into the motor alone can account for a noticeable difference, the drop in air temp is due to the fact the the pipe no longer goes over the top of the turbo and engine before entering the engine. and you will most likely get a bigger throttle body on that intake manifold, newer IC piping (if running stock IC piping and then switching to the aluminum, that alone is worth 10 - 20 hp without adj the boost) also a new intercooler because the stock one has the inlet and outlet on the same side whereas its preferred to have and normal intercooler with the inlet and outlet on opposite sides, that is more efficient as well ( the intercooler can give you another 10 - 20 hp) the stock IC piping and intercooler are so inefficient that they lose 3 psi at full boost. the stock 7mgte ran 6.8 lbs of boost and only got 3.8 lbs of boost to the motor. so to make a long story short if somehow you could only just change to the FFIM and leave everything else stock, yes you will get more hp, but due to the fact that you need a new throttle body (go big), new IC piping, and intercooler, you will notice GOOOD gains without touching the boost

far as i know the 90mm is as big as you can go. but there is a variety of different sizes, off the top of my head i know suprasport has them and i know a couple of the other big companies, i think jsc speed might. get in contact with them and go from there.
what do you have done and what are your intentions?

I have a 7mgte. It has Probe forged pistons bored .20, Eagle rods and ARP supporting hardware. The head has been redone and shaved a little. I am looking for a bigger turbo, as I do have the stock CT-26.

Intensions, I'm trying to get at "least" 500whp out of it.

did you do arp wrist pins? and did you do a bottom end rebuild?
suprasport has a FFIM and throttle bodies, i just checked it out, if you do the FFIM the big throttle body with the alum. IC piping and a decent Front mount intercooler and crank the boost to 15 psi with what you already have done to the car, you'll be pretty close to that 500 mark at the motor. i might say though, if youre looking to go to an aftermarket turbo and dont want to have to change your exhaust manifold and turbo elbow and oil lines etc etc suprasport has a boss turbo which is like the ct-26 but is hella bigger and more efficient etc etc (check it out) but if you want to go to a t3/t4 flanged turbo might i suggest go with bullseye (made by borg warner) s300 series. theres a place in west palm beach FL have a list on their site of their turbos and when you call them and tell them what youre looking for in a turbo, and hp they'll hook you up and their prices are good. also bullseye turbos which are made with almost 100% borg warner parts are proving to make more power on the dyno's than other turbo's at the same boost level. i didnt belive it but my friend has a integra, FULLY built motor, ems, this kid has dumped over $13k under the hood and he had a garrett on their and to prove a point my friend who has a fully built civic with a bullseye on it took his turbo off and put it on the integra and when justin ran his integra on the dyno he picked up 70 more hp on an older bullseye than his brand new garrett at the same boost.
500 hp is a nice fast but reliable ride man, your car will be sick
