engine whines to 5000rpm before shifting?

Well the shift points are at about 5000 for full throttle, even higher in power mode, but if it is hanging up between gears.

1. Check your fluid
2. Check and adjust your TPS ( Tranny uses input from tps to determine load)
3. Check/Adjust your kickdown cable
4. You could possibly have bad shift solenoid, the tsrm has a troubleshooting section for determing which/if a solenoid is bad. ( there are 2 )

Also try shiting through the gears yourself and see if it still hangs up between shifts

5. If all checks out, consider having your fluid/filter changed
