Heh, you could pickup a bad turbo core, pull the wheels and spindle, cap the hole for the shaft, run the oil lines straight into one another (bypassing the turbo) and drive it.... it'll run like a half dead N/A.... but it'll run. Someone on here was running like that for a little while, but I can't remember who. IMO, it's not worth the effort an I'm not going to recommend it.

ahh the good ol days.
when i was 16 i bought a Pontiac sunfire turbo. the turbo was dead on it so I wired the waste gate opened and ran it like that for about 2 years. till I filled the oil up to far and all my gauges went fish eyed. I had to Waite for a HUGE opening in traffic before I could merge. don't even get me started on freeway driving.

Ah yes the "good" ole days indeed. I could tell a mean tale of a certain 18yr old who came home one day the proud owner of a rotten to the core lancia delta turbo, which had no brakes and ran precisely 4 times, but thats for another time!
![]() it depends how the turbo's been removed i.e. N/A converted/bodged which as said will run, but thats about all itll do, or if its just been taken off for some reason i.e. To be replaced or put on another car in which case it wont run and should be treated as a blown motor unless the seller can prove it's ok which will be hard. To be honest itd be advisable to give it a miss, but i know what it is to be young and enthusiastic and if the money's really good you could take a punt and get a used turbo on the thing if you reckon it may be a goer... Just think long and hard and check the price and other options first, and if you do get it then dont forget theres a kickass forum here...
