Talking 7M upgrades for 7MT later

What should I do..

So I have my fully stock 88 Supra MKIII, I am going to end up putting in a 7mt engine + its man. transmission. Great right.. Here is my question.. So I don't have to put in different things later. What can I purchase and install now that will end up benefiting my 7mt engine. Exhaust system, etc.. Please give recommendations of the item your telling me to get.

Cre, I'm most interested in your input..

Awwww..... we have good advice too.....

haha, j/k

Only couple of things I can think of. Aftermarket air filter should be interchangeable (may need different adapter for the turbo AFM) and fuel pump.

Anything non-drivetrain related will help as well, i.e. coilovers, sway bars, better radiator (<------- IMO the most important upgrade before ANYTHING else)

Cool

I guess your right.. So sorry I said what I said that way.. I want everyones advice.. I have just seen Cre's advice all over the place. Ya so all that stuff is good stuff. What air filter.. I know K&N pretty much suck... What is a good one I should buy?

I'm thinking the filer and the exhaust system first...

So which ones will work best for my NA and the turbo when I install it...

BTW i'm looking to cap myself out a 350HP..

It's all good, I was just bein stupid

Unfortunately, most exhaust upgrades will need to be swapped out when you do your swap. The turbo supras seem to work best with about a 3 in exhaust, whereas a N/A requires something a little less (I believe around 2.5 in). You may want to run a lower end cat-back exhaust for your N/A for now (Pacesetter's are only a couple hundred bucks, and they're ok) and put a nice, full exhaust system on when you swap your engines out.

As for the filters, IMO a K&N will be fine as long as you maintain it properly. It is better than the stock paper filter. Most people run a higher quality filter, usually a dry flow filter (one that you don't have to oil). I can't remember which one it is, but Apexi or AEM make a highly recommended dry filter that many users are using in their rides.

Heh... thanks.

I'm not a fan of K&N. You can pickup a AEM and get better filtration and the same breathability for the same price (less if you shop around diligently)... but in it's defense K&N is still better than HKS' mushroom of death.

As opposed to another engine or with the intent of staying with the 7M-GE?

No just 7M vs 7MT.. So is there any reason to keep in the 7M? Especially if my goal is 350HP.
