Default Just got 89 supra and I need some help!

Just got a 89 supra turbo. Th guy said that he Had the engine and the tranny replaced with a low miles jdm 7mgte and r154 tranny. After he had the guy install it, the temp and boost gauges (stock in dash ones) don't work.

First where do I begin looking for what's wrong?

He also instaled a water temp gauge that is spliced into the top coolant line and only reads when the thermostat opens. How do I have the water temp gauge work all the time?

He put in a boost gauge and when I turn the car on, it goes straight to 30psi. The vacuum line is tapped into one of the MAF hose vacuum line that go to the intake manifold. Is this were the proper set up is?

Thank you!

begin by checking the sensors and cables
for the water temp gauge i believe you will have to place the sensor at the source most likely the water inlet
i dont believe that is the proper set up for a tubo but i dont know what the right set up is lol
these are just my opinions and mind you i got my supra on halloween

You need to put the vacuum hose for the boost gauge into the intake manifold. just tap it into one of the vacuum lines with a T thingo.

Or there may be a spare one available
