Paging Jeff Lange... Paging Jeff Lange...
(you guys probably don't know of him, so it's kind of wasted...) Anyway, I sent a message to Jeff... the guy is a human Supra encyclopedia (and other cars as well) it's creepy. I once heard that he actually was the brains behind the Supra altogether and he directed the design and built of the MKIII from the womb! ![]() No, really, the guy knows way too much about these cars and works for a Toyota dealership in Canada (so he can look up what Toyota's internal publications called it... if they even did call it anything different). JDM style blinkers? The JDM blinkers for the MKIII were amber.... unless this was a special change for half a year. The only signals with clear in them that came from the factory, AFAIK, were for the European markets and only half was clear (they look really cool, too). I hope Jeff emails back soon, I really wat to know what the deal is now too. So, Green, where did you come across a 92.5 (or whatever) anyway? It's an almost unheard of topic.

Go into the advanced editor and you'll see a paperclip icon at the top. Click on it and a window will open up for you to upload images, then you close it and click again and select the picture from the list.
Post the Toyota part numbers (it's on all toyota lenses)... I've got a set of full clears too, but they're not Toyota. EDIT: Yeah, those aren't OEM. They're the same as mine... They make them for pre89 and 89+... same company makes front and rear side markers too.

Dude, it was a joke... they're not made by Toyota and weren't stock:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWNX%3AIT I own some too. EDIT: Manufacturer DEPO Auto Parts Ind. Co., Ltd. of Taiwan. What do yours say? Also, I don't believe real Japanese OEM signals would be marked as being DOT/SAE compliant. Do yours have the same info on them? Part numbers on my signals are: 01-312-1643R-C and 01-312-1643L-C, didn't see it on any of my side markers so I presume it may be on the back side and I don't fell like pulling them off to check. EDIT2: They make OEM replacement units and they make "Tuning" lenses. http://www.depo.com.tw/asp/pdf/P_TY_CELICA.pdf No idea why they're listed in the catalog for the '94-'97 Celica. See the bottom of the catalog page and you will see "All items shown in this catalogue are not original parts." The stock units I have are labeled "Toyota" and "Japan".

Wikipedia Japan, the auto sales sites I managed to get Google to translate, Toyota's parts system (thanks Jeff!) all list a 1993 JZA70. I searched Google Japan for JZA70 1993 and for JZA70 1992.5. No Japanese hits for 1992.5 but plenty for 1993. TRD Japan shows it having been sold until 1993.5.
So.... I'm sticking with calling it a '93. It doesn't really matter anyway, they were only RHD, JDM, are rare as hell and it's unlikely you'll ever see one in the States. EDIT: Oh, and Green, no differences (thanks again to Jeff). |

Post more pics... they're aftermarket. I had Jeff look up the part numbers... no changes. Also, all Toyota part numbers are formatted XXXXX-XXXXX, I don't know how far back that convention goes, but it started well before the MKIII and it's still what they use today. If they say "Toyota" on them I don't know who made them. If they're retroreflective they're probably made by a guy who goes by Wolfie out of the UK. He makes some based on a mold of genuine Toyota lenses; They will have a Toyota part number on them from the casting (unless he removed it in which case it would be a big blank). Mind posting some closeups of yours? To me yours look just like the DEPO lenses I've got.
Wolfie's will have the following part numbers: 81521-14332 81511-14332 Seriously, if they were a stock unit people would be ordering for them instead of special ordering the half clear Euro style or paying even more for the lenses from Wolfie which requires replacing the clear lens of the stock housing with the new, clear lens.
