One Piece Driveshaft

I have, but you should go to a reputable place to get your driveshaft. You have the option of Aluminum or Steel. I suggest going to these guys for your driveshaft needs.

I first got a steel one from Driftmotion and it made vibrations on the freeway at 60 plus mph. I even tried to get it balanced without success. Shaftmasters aluminum is awesome.

Although it will cost you over $150......actually the cost of the one piece is just a little over the cost of buying a new center carrier bearing from Toyota.

More wear, yes... in a few places; also harsher on the gears as you move between on throttle and off throttle conditions...

Aluminum is the lighter choice, steel is the stronger choice. Aluminum reverberates at a higher pitch than steel and as such you see a fair number of people complain that the Alum DS is loud.

There are a LOT of factors to consider. I posted in a thread about this recently, do a search and you should be able to find it readily enough.

Remember! Each of the MKIII drive shafts are different lengths and use different yokes.

Reydio, local shops can fabricate them pretty quickly and usually do it for less. $150's a bit lower than I expected though and I'd be inclined to ask what wall thickness, outside diameter and grade steel their planning on using.

yes cre i think we had this discussion before...im looking at the driveshafts from horsepowerfreaks.com

i looked at one particular driveshaft that got many good reviews and i would want to get steel because like you said it is much lighter than the stock DS

My personal recommendation would be go to the source and get one built to your car's specific measurements.
