The pedals do not line up; it was like that from the factory. The only reason any of the pedals would be even closer to the ground is if the arm is bent. I believe there is approxamately a 1/2" offset between the gas and brake pedals.

If it isn't bent and you floor it and the throttle plate doesn't open 100% then you may need to remove slack from the throttle cable (there is supposed to be a little, but not much) or you may need to adjust the linkage which mounts between it and the throttle body.

Thank you. This has really been helpful. All in all even with a lil tap on the pedal the car moves! I bought the car completly stock. Im working on restoring the car then looking into performance. I want to leave the body and interior untouched for that classic look.
