ok so you said something about changing out the transistors in a ge tach to make it work like a gte. so i canged the cluster again cuz i wanted a volt meter in the cluster instead of a boost gauge (just got a set of delphi gauges :)) and the tach doesnt really work so can you run me through how to make it work?

thank you. when i rev the engine the gauge doesnt really move. but when i turn on the lighhter plug and heater while rolling ddown the windows, the gauge works, is this because of the resistors?

I've never experimented with swapping gauges just to see what happens when the wrong one is used, I do know that people generally report very odd behavior on top of the fact that it is a mile off when it does move.

so i just swaped out the gauge circuitry from the gte tach to the ge tach so its a ge tach with the gte circuitry and wouldnt you know it...
it works :) thank you for the help. i would have never knon that the resistors and such are different. thank you for the help in solving the problem :) |
