Default Recommended Upgrades?

Okay so right now I have an 87 Twin turbo with a 2.0 1ggte but it's just too small for me
Once the winter is over I am looking at buying a 1jzgte with a manual tranny and doing the auto to manual swap
I already have turbo-back exhaust and I'm wondering what else I should do when I get my engine
I will attach a pic of my engine bay right now incase that helps (i know it's a total mess)
One thing I need first is power steering
It will be a bitch turning and shifting. lol

I wouldnt swap that engine for anything thats a very rare setup, with a good amount of power if you are wanting a 1jz then buy a supra that has a blown engine and swap that but your crazy to get rid of that engine. Just my thoughts.

DO NOT SWAP THAT MOTOR!!!! Next to a 79 supra that is probly the rarest supra ever built. I agree with the other guy buy one with a bhg or something. But dont lessin to people about the 1jzgte, use the 7mgte their is no replacement for displacement.

I'd swap that engine out in a second myself. 1G's were dogs... twin turbo and still no better than a 7M-GE? Ack! It was only available in Japan and I think there was a good reason... probably the poor man's econo-supra.

As for the 1JZ, I'm not an expert on those. I'd start with a rebuild, fuel upgrades, boost controller and see where it takes you. Swapping out the twins for one large Supra is a popular change and for good reason.
