You can use the R154 five speed from the 7m if you use the 1jz bellhousing. You can find one on driftmotion.com.

I think you can i just don't remember how, maybe someone else will chime in. It would probably be easier to use the R154 though. I will come back on if I find anything out about it.

ok...i hope they are the same mounting points for the gearbox mounts, that would awesome, cause then the motor and box will bolt straight into the car, n i guess i would only hav 2 worry bout the tailshaft and wiring
6 gears will b that lil better than 5 i guess hahaha, n not 2 mention it will b that lil bit stronger. thanks for your help dude, yer if any1 has any ideas plz let me know... ![]() |

I'm pretty sure that I've read on this forum that the gear selector is farther back than on a R154 or W58, which means at the very least you will have some metal cutting to do to make it fit

sorry bout my ingnorance lol...
but just so i understand you...the gearbox mounts from the 7m box to the 2j box should b the same?...but i might just have to customise the hole in the floor for the shift because it sits further bak??? |

Actually, I'm not sure on the mount locations either. Most people seem to decide that a 2JZ/6 speed swap is not worth the time, labor, and frustration. Not the most popular swap in a MKIII, which is why you're probably finding it hard to find any information on it.
