Cool The 7mGTE and the Tranny question

I'm hoping (okay maybe dreaming XD) about slapping a 7mgte(or 7mge) into my 84 babygirl p-type, but she's got an auto-tradgic tranny and most of the websites that I've read seem to be talking about the W58 Manual. How does a 7mgte swap affect how the auto tranny bolts in? Is there anything that needs fabrication or should I just get the tranny rebuilt and call it a day?

Sometimes I do think about doing an auto to manual conversion but when I talk about it most people scoff and say it does a Supra no favors and 99% of the time the conversion ends very badly for car and frame. So I was hoping to get some opinions from the Supra experts here about said conversion.
Please keep in mind that I'm pretty sure this car has been rear-ended and she came to me with some ghettorized headlights (someone fried it and didn't put it back right). Thank you much all! Much Supra-Love!

Hey man do yourself a favor and forget about the 7m unless you have another car to drive around..There are guys that have taken months or years to get it done running perfect..

Unhappy

Alrighty, would a 6m be better? Or is it best just to leave the original in there with a rebuild?

The 6m is a direct swap..You just have to put your external peices and she screams..Find a 7m turbo manifold, turbo, intercooler and piping and blowoff valve..Then you will have just as much power as the 7m or more..Here is a link for ya..

I don't know about auto tranny mounting with the 7m but I do know that the 7mge and 7mgte will bolt straight up to the w58 manual tranny. I checked in to that but found out that you would have to get the complete electrical for the 7m, would not work off of the 5m electrical
