Default idle help!!!!!!!!!!!

hey, i just got a toyota supra 87 non-turbo. i fixed the head gasket and put the car all back together but it wont idle. it just dies. and it is really hard to start. but it does run as long as i keep the rpms up above 2000 and it runs like a champ on the streets. i just cant let the rpms drop below 2000 or the car dies.... please help me....

At a guess with no codes, could be an intake leak, vacuum leak, cps misaligned, timing off. My best guess would be timing and/or cps.

yeah sounds to me like a vacuum leak. do a smoke test if your confident you dont have a leak or if you cant find anything. thats usually what causes idle issues.

Mine would not idle after my HG swap either. All said and done it was my timing. Like a noob i aligned the timing marks but didn't compensate for the tensioner mis-aligning them. So could be something like that.
